Users Can Rate Your Course

Our development team has just responded to a very desired feature for our eLearning platform. Yes, in this first release, users can rate courses and submit review comments to admins.

The Power of User Feedback – Available Now at uQualio

Trust us on this – you want the feedback. If your goal is to teach your new employees, or get the whole team onboard with the new accounting process – you want it to be effective. And if your course is intended to show your customers how your product or service works – YOU NEED THE FEEDBACK!

Why are we creating courses anyway? We want them to be effective – for whatever our reasons are.

What is Actually Being Added for Course Ratings?

So your admin(s) are now able to add the option for your course users to rate the course they just took on a scale of one to five stars. You can then see the overall average rating, and how many people rated it. Easy peasy.

Any one- or two-star ratings can be set to require a comment in order to be submitted. Hey, you surely want to know why the rating was low. But any star rating can also allow for an internal comment or review if desired. These comments for now will be available in the Rating Report for the Admin. The numerical calculation of the star ratings average will be excluded from the calculation until the Admin changes status to “Included” after checking it.

Wait, Are Users Going to Comment on the Course and the Whole World Will See?

Relax, breathe. No one is trying to get you fired for making a bad course. Well, maybe that one guy who’s lunch you accidentally took from the shared fridge.

How it works is that any rating and/or review is released on to the course admin(s) first. You get to read them, maybe even learn something that’s making the course difficult for the user that you can fix now. You get the important information before you can then allow the rating. You’re not required to show your ratings, but as you continue to improve your materials, you’ll be able to show them to brag about how great your courses are!

How Do We Set Up the Ratings and Review Stuff?

Aren’t we clever – we just had a Webinar explaining this month’s new features, so we have some short vids to show you in case you missed it. You can find the specific clips for the Course Ratings and User Feedback in Product News October 2025.

Users Can Rate Courses: Tell Me the Benefits

The benefits to your course, your product, and your employees are many. Here are several examples:

  • Increased trust in your course: If you are selling a course, the buyer wants to know it’s good. Posting your ratings is a great way to promote trust. Students, for example, are likely to be more loyal when they can see – and make – ratings.
  • Helps to market your course: Heck, you can take the 4.9-star average rating of 325 who took that course, and brag on social media about how highly rated it is.
  • You can learn about a problem – and fix it!: If you don’t get feedback, you could be missing something really, really important. It could be something small that can be immediately rectified. Or something your training didn’t consider. Your user group may have a unique need that you discover by allowing ratings.
  • You can learn about something great you didn’t know about: What if a reviewer comments on how life-changing your new product is? Then what if 75 reviewers say the same thing? And it’s not even a feature included on your company website. This can change and improve how you see your own product.
  • Ratings can improve your Google search ranking: You might not have thought of that one for the future. And with so much AI-generated content, reviews are considered original keyword content. Remember, you MUST get explicit permission to publish any user feedback received internally.
  • Ratings can let you know which courses to focus on selling: While you fix content that maybe was less highly, you’ll know which successful ones to really push out into the world.

Public Users (Not Charged as Active Users) Can Now Comment

Remember how uQualio allows you to have as many public (free) users as you want for public courses? Now you can get their valuable feedback, too. Maybe you’re a local government that uses uQualio to show instructional videos to residents to learn how to follow new procedures (like sorting your refuse waste for pickup). For public courses, anyone who has the link can view the course. As they aren’t considered an “active” user, you don’t get charged for everyone who views your public course.

But now that user can request to submit a comment about the course. They will be asked for an email, but their comment won’t be published publicly – this is just for you to use to improve the course, interact with your public users more, and will likely enrich your material in other ways.

This verification step for public users to comment now serves a second important purpose. In addition to getting useful feedback from your audience, security is improved, and bots and SPAM won’t have access to commenting.
