Video LMS Gamification

Learners finishing training on day one reach value faster. Most don't. Here's how gamification changes that.

A quiz after each video module takes completion rates from around 15% to over 80%. uQualio builds quizzes, certificates, and progress tracking directly into every course. No extra tools, no third-party integrations.

Most training doesn't get finished. That's the real problem.

A course nobody completes is a course that does nothing. It doesn’t reduce support tickets, it doesn’t shorten onboarding time, it doesn’t move a partner from curious to capable. The content doesn’t matter if the learner closes the tab after the first video.

The research on this is consistent: passive video watching produces low retention and low completion. Add a short knowledge check at the end of each chapter and both numbers go up. Significantly.

uQualio’s gamification layer is not a separate module to configure. Every course you publish can have gamified quizzes per topic and module, a pass threshold, a certificate, and a ranking. All built from the same interface where you built the video.

Video LMS Gamification

The advantage of gamification

When a customer completes your onboarding course and passes the gamified microlearning final test, two things happen: they know they’ve set up correctly, and you have documented proof before the next invoice goes out.

No more support tickets from customers who skipped the setup steps. No more chasing completions manually. The certificate is the signal: the course is done, the customer is ready.

DORA slashes customer onboarding time by 87% with uQualio's video training platform.

uQualio seriously helped us overcome that challenge of scaling by remarkably reducing the customer onboarding time as today, we no longer need to visit each of our customers individually.

The tools that actually change completion behaviour

The brain has cognitive constraints. Working with them (not against them) is the difference between training people remember and training they forget. uQualio is built on three proven learning science principles.

Quizzes and knowledge tests; because watching isn't knowing

Set a pass threshold per course with multi-level passing levels. Learners who don’t meet it can be required to re-watch and retry before getting a certificate. Practice questions (quiz visible after a topic) sit separately from final test questions, so a learner can check their understanding without using up their attempts on the formal assessment.

AI generates quiz questions from the video transcript automatically when you add them. You edit before it goes live.

Three quiz types: Single-correct multiple choice, Poll, & Text answer.

Certificates give learners something to earn

Four certificate templates, customizable multi level passing levels. Standard is: Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze. Branded with your logo and colours.

Learners earn a certificate when they meet the threshold for a course or a programme. The certificate is shareable on social media, so LinkedIn sharing is built in. For partner networks, a shareable certification badge has a secondary effect: it tells the rest of the network that completing the training is worth doing.

PDF printable certificates: Proof that training happened

Every learner who passes the final assessment gets a downloadable, branded PDF certificate. Your logo. The course name. The date. The learner’s name and organisation.

Optional expiry date: set the certificate to lapse after 12 months, and you can send out re-certification invitation when it does. Compliance mode locks the course content, so the training record matches exactly what the learner completed.

Certificates are traceable so admins can see who holds a current certificate for any course.

Points and progress tracking, so users see where they stand

Points accumulate as learners move through a course. Learners see their own progress in real time. Progress circles per course make it clear what’s left and what’s coming next.

For admins: The Course Reports show who has finished, who is in progress, and who hasn’t started. Filter by channel, cohort, or programme. Identify where learners are dropping off. A high drop-off at chapter three usually means chapter three needs work.

Pass thresholds and re-attempts

Set a minimum pass score per course. A learner below the threshold is not issued a certificate. Set the number of allowed re-attempts before a course lock under advanced settings. Useful for compliance training where you need to verify genuine knowledge rather than persistence.

Re-attempt data is visible in the completion report. A learner who retried five times before passing tells you something different from a learner who passed first attempt.

Reminders for non-completers

A learner who started and stopped should be sent a reminder. In any report, select the users and send reminders with reference to the specific course. Not a generic nudge.

Non-completion reminders are one of the highest-leverage things you can do in uQualio.

Most learners who don’t complete in the first session do complete when reminded once. The reminder runs only when you want it – no automation that spams users.

LMS Gamification - Features

Three quiz types:

  • Single-correct multiple choice: The default. One right answer, the learner picks one. Use this for knowledge checks, compliance tests, and certification gates.
  • Poll: No right answer. Useful for gathering feedback mid-course or checking sentiment at the end of an onboarding module.
  • Text answer: Free-text input. Useful if you need to capture the nuance.
